FAQ - about bamboo fence & fence installation
Can I clean rolled fencing that got moldy while in storage?
Yes, you may clean it with a mixture of detergent and bleach. If the fencing will regularly be placed in storage an application of deck sealant (i.e. Thompsons) may help prevent a recurrence. Click the link for more details.
Do you have 3 foot high bamboo fence?
Yes. All of our rolled fences can be cut to 3' high. The cost to cut any of the dozen or so fences is $15. See
rolled fences
on our website.
How do I install traditional black ties?
Traditional black ties are a beautiful additional to any style of Bamboo Fence. Please
see drawings for more detail information.
Selecting a Bamboo Fence
The style of a fence should match its reason for being. There are many reasons for installing a fence. Security, screening, defining a boundary, providing a background, excluding an animal, and adding artistic balance are all valid fence functions.
What maintenance is needed for unpolished reed fencing?
The reed fencing can be sealed with a deck sealer. I recommend this over polyurethane, which does not hold up well in sunlight.
How much maintenance is required for a bamboo fence?
Maintenance is nil unless you do not like the weathered silvery grey look. If that it is the case, you will have to clean and apply a waterproofing deck sealer as often as anually, depending on your local climate.
I cannot decide on a rolled fence. How do they differ?
There are many choices for rolled fencing. Here you will find deltailed information that will help you choose.
Is bamboo fencing expensive?
No. Bamboo fencing is competitive with quality wood fencing. Bamboo fencing costs less than most masonry walls.
Will bamboo fencing last in our outdoor climate?
Yes. Properly made and installed bamboo fences should last 15 years throughout U.S. Click the link for more details.
Will my bamboo fence discolor and will it last in winter?
The same things that attack wood attack bamboo as well. Generally the winter is not a problem, but you will need to protect your fence from water and sunlight as with any other wooden fence. Click the link for more details.
