FAQ - about wall coverings

How do you install the slat wall coverings?

The bamboo slat wall coverings come in 47" heights and 9' lengths. They are very stiff and, unless pressed in some manner will lay flat against a wall when held at their ends with molding of some kind. This is a preferred installation technique since it is easy to remove it if desired. The alternative is to use industrial adhesive or contact cement. These work very well and are easy to apply. However, both these adhesives are very difficult to defeat and hard to remove. Do not attempt to use water based wallpaper paste with these bamboo wall coverings. The bamboo will expand when in contact with the water, the paste will dry and become brittle, the bamboo will then dry out and shrink and the wall covering will pop off the wall. Very irritating. The 47" height is close to what you would use for a chair rail height. The material can then be butted and the joint hidden with a bamboo half round or other molding to give another 47" which will handle most modern ceiling heights. You can saw cut this material. Go slow and use a fine tooth blade.
