Which bamboo would work for a whisker pole for a yacht?

The ideal would be a pole of Phyllostachys nigra "Henon" that is at least 3 years since shooting, is 5 cm at the butt, and 4.2 meters long, straight, and a first cut. The last term means that the pole is the first one cut and the butt is near the ground. The pole should be cured; if you cannot obtain a cured pole you will have to let it dry, shaded from the sun but with plenty of air circulation. It should then be cleaned and polished, which a supplier may or may not want to do. You can do this with heat and wiping with rags. It will remove excess wax (this species has a lot of natural wax). The result of all this will be an excellent whisker pole that is very strong, light, and long-lasting.

We certainly could supply this pole. However, if you live far from our warehouses and/or store location, the shipping costs would be very high. Contact us if you need help finding a local supplier.
